birth announcement.

this birth announcement was done for our sweet friends, james & lisa burgess, who welcomed their firstborn, everett andrew, into our world not even a week ago. isn't he precious?

these announcements are from san lori, and actually were a christmas card on sale! everett's monogram and the text are in "cochin" (small caps) and his name is accented using "snell roundhand." all of the ink is brown to match the details in the card.

save the date - final.

this is the final(ish) product of the save the date postcard i'm making for my brother cory & his fiance katie! (finally!) :)

katie & cory have kind of a city-girl/country-boy theme, so they wanted a font that was a little bit western on the back... hence the "rope" font. :)

i think they're going to be so cute, and can't wait for their wedding in june! only 4 more months to go - crazy!

(please excuse the black marks on the bottom of the pics... my scanner has some ink or something on it.)

chocolate chip cookies.

hi friends! if you are reading this blog entry, there's a good chance you may have received cookies from my husband, jason, with dagley insurance. we know that these cookies are so yummy, so we've decided to put the recipe on my website, to share it with anyone interested.

while you're copying down the specifics for these yummy treats, feel free to peek around the rest of this site. i create custom stationary & invitations for all types of gifts and events. all of my contact info can be found on this site.

sara beth's ridiculously decadent
chocolate chip cookies

(Recipe may be halved):

2 cups brown sugar
2 cups sugar
4 eggs

5 cups blended oatmeal (Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder.)
4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 8oz. Hershey Bar - grated
24 oz. chocolate chips
3 cups your choice of chopped nuts - optional

Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla; mix together with flour, oatmeal, cinnamon, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar and nuts. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.

more notecards.

my sweet friend lisa ordered these cards for gifts for her friends. we had so much fun picking them out! personalized stationary is a great gift, because you can pick the cards out to go with each individual's personality. you'll notice a few different styles, here... and i'm sure each card will tell you a bit about their receiver!

this san lori card is so beautiful. andrea's name is printed in "adine kirnberg," in chocolate to match the card.

andrea can write notes from her whole family with this san lori card. also in chocolate, their family name is printed "cochin" (in all caps).

this jc gingham card is so cute! heather's name is printed in "kayleigh," in chocolate to match the brown stripes of the card.

heather's family card is also made by jc gingham. their name is printed in "gill sans light," in all lower case. so cute!

jennifer's name is printed - you guessed it - in chocolate, using "black jack" on this jc gingham pink paisley notecard.

lisa picked out the same card in blue to be printed with jennifer's monogram. the chocolate monogram is in "harrington."

the same card is used a third time, this time in a pretty lime green, for mr. & mrs. belknap... or make & jen. their names are printed in "century gothic light."

jc gingham also made this sweet aqua & lime paisley card. julie's name is printed in one of my favorite fonts: "amelie." i think it goes perfectly with the swirly, paisley pattern at the bottom of the card. (lisa also ordered this exact card for her sister-in-law, jen yee.)

i love this san lori card! the black & red floral pattern is so striking. the conary family's name is printed in the bottom band in lowercase "cochin." (lisa's sister-in-law is also getting a set of these cards, reading "the yee family.")

christmas card.

this is the rains family's christmas card for 2008! : )

the picture is from when jason and i took emma to see "the wiggles: live!" we had such a great time, and is such a great memory with our "little." emma loved it, despite her non-smile in this picture. but who can get a picture with an almost-2-year-old smiling & looking perfectly at the camera, anyway?

this card is a 5.75" x 8.75" flat card by inviting company. it's a beautiful "lime" green (despite the goldish tone that shows up in this picture) with chocolate accents. the fonts used are "scriptina" and "gill sans light," both in chocolate to match the card.

we really love this card! i can't wait to make more next year... and maybe another baby announcement in the next two years... ok, maybe i'm getting a little ahead of myself. :)

anyway...

merry christmas!
from emma kate designs & family :)
